Cremation has gradually gained in popularity and about half our families now choose this alternative to a traditional service. This option forgoes the casket for burial while still providing a private family-only viewing, memorial service, or religious service. You can choose to make your arrangements with the assistance of our staff or the funeral director, which is the traditional way most people plan, or you can complete all the necessary paperwork yourself, at your home, and mail it to us. See our Millennial Cremation information below for more details.
Millennial Cremations (DIY Online Cremations)
Our Millennial Cremation service is our most affordable direct cremation because you complete and pay for your service without meeting with the funeral director or meeting at the funeral home.
This Cremation package is completed online or by mail with no meeting with funeral director or use of funeral home. Price includes pick up within Berks County, Crematory fee and Berks County Coroner permit. Additional charges will apply for deaths occurring outside of Berks County. A contract and other documents will be mailed to you for signature. After you complete your documents, you must mail or drop off your documents along with payment. When the death occurs, you simply call the funeral home and the deceased is removed from the place of death to a holding facility with refrigeration. When all necessary state certificates and permits are completed and the coroner’s cremation authorization is issued, the deceased is then cremated and the family notified when to pick up the ashes. Cremains are returned in a cardboard box. A 3% fee applies for credit card payments.
You can start the process online here.
