The oldest nativity, purchased in 2015 by owner/supervisor, Michael Feeney, was handcrafted in Oberammergau, Germany more than 150 years ago and spent the last 30 years in a Christmas museum in Germany. The intricate set measures 50” wide x 28” deep x 28” high, weighs 70 pounds, and features more than 30 separate hand-carved 150-year-old figurines. Feeney's “newer” 46-year-old antique handcrafted nativity, purchased in 1995, will also be on display. It was carved by Ernst Kraus, a fifth generation wood carver from Oberammergau and the great-great-great-great grandson of the older nativity’s carver.
Visitors can tour the first and second floors of the mansion and enjoy Christmas scenes and music on the mansion’s video system.
The Feeney Mansion is free and open to the public with limited free off-street parking. The Feeney mansion is located at 625 N. 4th St. in Reading.
