Join us for our annual free Christmas Open House Tour on Sunday, November 26, 2017 from 11am-4pm. Showcased this year will be two antique nativity sets from Germany.
Guess the number of lights on our tree and win a gift certificate for a Poinsettia Tree from Temple Green House! You must be present to cast your guess. Winner will be notified via email/phone.
The oldest nativity, purchased in 2015 by owner/supervisor, Michael Feeney, was handcrafted in Oberammergau, Germany more than 150 years ago and spent the last 30 years in a Christmas museum in Germany. The intricate set measures 50” wide x 28” deep x 28” high, weighs 70 pounds, and features more than 30 separate hand-carved 150-year-old figurines. Feeney's “newer” 46-year-old antique handcrafted nativity, purchased in 1995, will also be on display. It was carved by Ernst Kraus, a fifth generation wood carver from Oberammergau and the great-great-great-great grandson of the older nativity’s carver.
Visitors can tour the first and second floors of the mansion and enjoy Christmas scenes and music on the mansion’s video system. Refreshments will be available along with figgy pudding from England.
The Christmas Open House Tour is free to attend, and free off-street parking is available. The Feeney mansion is located at 625 N. 4th St. in Reading.
